What’s at Stake Tomorrow

Dear Friends,

This past weekend, I received the tremendous honor of being named Humanitarian of the Year by the Hospital Association of Southern California. While I am grateful for this recognition, it also reminded me of the significant work that remains in our healthcare system. As I accepted this award, I reflected on my humble beginnings in Pakistan and how America has enabled me to live a dream life, providing my family with opportunities I once could only imagine. This is why this election means so much to me.

Over the past two years, I have been deeply involved in this political journey and have dedicated the last four months to helping my friend Kamala Harris get elected. I want to ensure that America remains a beacon of hope, leaving our children with more opportunities and freedoms than we inherited. I’ll never forget Kamala’s visit to my home a few months ago; as she spoke with my daughter about her hopes for the future, I felt immense pride as a father, but I also worry about what another four years of Trump chaos would mean for my daughter's future.

As a doctor, I am equally concerned about what a second term of a radical Trump administration would mean for my patients and our healthcare system. I see firsthand the devastating impact of the current system on my patients' lives. Many struggle to access quality care, and chronic illnesses are on the rise, straining our economy. We need to support policies that enhance access to healthcare, protect women’s health and reproductive rights, and prioritize mental health care. By supporting Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party, we can build an equitable healthcare system for all Americans.

Please donate what you can to ensure the campaign finishes strong, and most importantly, make sure you vote. Let everyone in your network know who you support and why this election is so crucial.

Thank you for standing with us.

In solidarity,

Dr. Asif Mahmood
