Election Day is tomorrow. Surveys show that millions of Christians are opting to sit this election out – with many citing a dislike of the candidates. Don’t let that be you, your friends, or your fellow church members! I will be straightforward: I have endorsed Donald J. Trump for President. I don’t think he’s ideal, and he is not who I would have personally chosen. However, he is the clear choice to bring about policies that bless our nation and our neighbor. To read that endorsement – written for those who may be struggling with whether they can ultimately cast their vote for Trump – click here. Also on the ballot tomorrow are 14 congressional races, 236 legislative seats, and a host of local elections. Frontline has put together a non-exhaustive list of endorsements (if we did not list candidates in your area, that is not a negative indicator on them – these are simply races we wanted to highlight). To view the full list of endorsements – click here. And, if you need help understanding the constitutional amendments on your ballot – click here. While the top of your ballot is getting all the attention, I cannot emphasize enough how much conservative victories in the Georgia General Assembly or School Board could positively impact your life. There is, quite simply, no valid excuse not to vote! To frame this election from an issue perspective, here are five issues at stake for tomorrow’s results:
1. Girls’ Sports, Bathrooms, and Radical Gender Ideology – From a national perspective, Kamala Harris wants to weaponize the federal government to redefine Title IX, require every school in every state to allow boys in girls sports and bathrooms, and target those who affirm scientific truth instead of the nonsense of gender ideology. She will push legislation, executive orders, judges, and bureaucratic regulations all aimed at the erasure of biology, and her running mate is so bought in that he even required tampons to be made available in men’s bathrooms in Minnesota. On the other hand, Donald Trump, at worst, will not use the federal government in this way. At best, he and JD Vance have indicated using vehicles at their disposal to actively protect girls sports, protect minors from gender reassignment, and roll back these extreme ideologies from our military and other institutions. Here in Georgia, we passed a rule that allows the GHSA to define sports participation on the basis of biology. This was a win we worked hard for and supported, but it woefully insufficient. At the same, we are committed to protecting girls’ bathrooms and changing spaces. To pass such legislation, we need to expand conservative majorities in the General Assembly. A handful of seats in north Metro Atlanta will decide whether boys will be allowed in your daughter’s bathrooms. It is imperative we elect conservative leaders like Rep. Todd Jones, Rep. Scott Hilton, Rep. Matt Reeves, and Sandy Donatucci!
2. Taxes, Inflation, and the Economy – Did you know Kamala Harris grew up in a middle class family? (That’s a joke). Regardless of how often Kamala touts her roots, the realities are that her plans raise taxes on most people reading this email while doubling down on the policies that have led to unbelievable inflation and scarcity of homes and resources. In Georgia, we have been affected by the disastrous Biden-Harris policies, but we have been protected by a Governor and General Assembly that has lowered taxes, raised pay for teachers and other government workers, balanced the budget, and created the conditions for the #1 state to do business. Gov. Kemp has suspended the gas tax on multiple occasions, refunded taxpayers, and is still reaping the benefits from being the first state to reopen during the pandemic. To ensure families have the opportunity to thrive, it is imperative that we return to the Trump era economy and continue to send Governor Kemp allies like Sen. Shawn Still that keep our state prosperous.
3. Immigration and Crime – The killing of Laken Riley brings the issue home for Georgians in a unique way, but the lawlessness of the Biden-Harris Administration has resulted in loss of life across the country. Open borders, a refusal to deport, an unwillingness to prosecute, and countless “carrots” designed to lure, reward, and keep illegal immigrants in this country have done great harm to individual citizens, families, collective economies and communities, our national identity, and the integrity of our elections. As President, Donald Trump began the work of building the border wall, and, unlike Kamala Harris, believes that a nation must have borders and operate by the rule of law. Our state, too, has also passed legislation that gets tougher on crime, punishes sanctuary cities, supports law enforcement, and gets tougher on illegal immigration. To preserve a nation of laws and a state that continues to take steps to prosecute wrongdoers, it’s imperative that we elect leaders like Trump-Vance, candidate for State House Noah Harbuck, and candidate for Fulton County DA Courtney Kramer!
4. School Choice and Indoctrination in Education – The Department of Education has been a primary vehicle for tremendous evil by the Biden-Harris Administration, and the teacher’s unions, led by Randi Weingarten, are, frankly, and enemy to you and your children. Donald Trump and JD Vance present arguably the most school choice-friendly and nationalized education-adversary ticket of all-time. While we are not as certain of what they can pass or achieve by executive fiat, we do know that they will not use their power to deny your family education freedom or impose indoctrination on your children. Moreover, they will prove friendly to efforts in Georgia to remove obscene material in schools, pass universal school choice, and put children first. For the sake of every child’s opportunity, Donald Trump’s election to the presidency will allow for great gains, and Georgia leaders like Rep. Jan Jones and School Board candidates like Dorian Usherwood (Forsyth) and Randy Hough (Fayette) will make victories for you and your family truly possible
5. Life – Never has there been a more extreme ticket than Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Infanticide in Minnesota is not a conspiracy theory – it is a fact under the law championed by Harris’ running mate. Neither of them can name a single limit on abortion that they would support. While Trump’s position is insufficient, theirs is evil, and it is the cornerstone of their campaign – meaning they would use every mechanism available to them, including executive orders, judicial appointments, and court packing – to increase death in America. In our state, more than 37,000 lives have been saved as a result of the Heartbeat Law while access to adoption has increased and the state has waged war against the scourge of human trafficking. Georgia is a state that values human life, and, to preserve our autonomy to protect fellow image bearers, we have a moral imperative to reject the pro-death Harris-Walz ticket. The results of tomorrow’s election isn’t about the candidates. Your vote isn’t a way to “reward” or “bless” them, and, if you are disinterested because you are not a fan of those seeking office, my encouragement to you is to consider the issues and how they will affect your neighbor. In the closing weeks of this election, Frontline Policy Action has embarked on a robust digital campaign, sent direct mail, and blasted text messages across our state. We look forward to reporting how our endorsed candidates perform! To follow our reporting, like our Action Facebook page, here. Our sister organization, Frontline Policy Council, has set forth on an unprecedented nonpartisan campaign to reach churches and Christians with biblical resources. To view our I Believe video, click here, or sign up here to get free resources for your church to share! We are proud of our Council team, which has hosted events all over the state, reached thousands of churches, and encouraged biblical engagement without promoting a Party or candidate. We look forward to reporting how the Body of Christ responded in these turbulent times. To follow our sister organization, like our Council Facebook page, here. On the line tomorrow are real issues that affect the lives of real people. We have the biblical mandate to vote and to ensure our influence over the process. After that, however, we have the multi-pronged responsibility to love our neighbor (even those we disagree with), move forward in faith, hope, and confidence, hold up a biblical standard to all – even those a part of your preferred Party – to reach, and to shape the future of the debate. May we glorify our God with how we respond to this moment. In Faith, Cole Muzio PS. Later today, I will be recording a podcast with my election predictions. To follow our podcast, click here.
