As a pitcher, the final pitch of a game is always the hardest. Your arm is tired from hours of pitches, you're baking in the sunlight for what feels like forever, and you're aware that every miscalculation could lead to a home run. So, whether you are mere moments away from a win or the one poor pitch away from a loss, it can feel like a herculean feat just to get the ball over the plate.

The final pitch of an election can feel the same way.

I announced my reelection campaign back in late November, 2023, and for months we've been working to build our grassroots movement by talking to unions, community leaders, and constituents from across Northwestern Iowa. Not to mention the endless phone calls, door knocking, yardsigns, radio ads, and events our campaign has done!

And all that work can be distilled into this final pitch:

As your representative in the state House, I will always Stand Tall for All.

Our community deserves better than our far-right Governor and legislative leaders have to offer. Their extremist views are only matched by the extremism of my opponent — which is exactly why they're hoping he will beat us tomorrow. My opponent's far-far-far-right views are combined with a glaring ignorance of the issues that are most important to our community. He can't speak to the latest issues of the AEAs or public education funding; he doesn't know what environmental challenges our community is facing or how to solve them; and, he sure as hell doesn't know anything about Iowa's abortion care crisis except that he wants to make it worse.

He will be the perfect stamp of approval for Governor Reynolds and her extreme policies.

But as your representative, I will learn about every issue for our community and advance the policies that will improve the lives of Iowans and our community in Northwestern Iowa. I will Stand Tall for abortion rights, the AEAs, public education, working families, and everything that matters to our community. I hope that you will support me in tomorrow's election and help me Stand Tall for All.
