The 2024 United Nations Climate Change Conference or Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC, more commonly known as COP29, will be the 29th United Nations Climate Change conference. COP29 will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan from 11 to 22 November, 2024.

There are many controversies surrounding COPs and COP29 in particular.
What are your thoughts?
Petrostates and fossil fuel companies dominate attendees at COP29.
Is this good or bad?

• Azerbaijan's economy is highly dependent on fossil fuels, the main cause of climate change
• Polluters must pay: how COP29 can make this a reality
• Azerbaijan appoints fossil fuel execs and scandal-hit officials to all-male Cop29 committee
• Big oil ‘fully owned the villain role’ in 2023, the hottest year ever recorded
• COP29: States must press Azerbaijani authorities to end assault on civil society

Our speaker will be Katelynn Samuelsen, the Outreach and Engagement Specialist working on the Climate Pollution Reduction Grant with the Wisconsin Office of Sustainability and Clean Energy.
