Your Last Chance to Make a Difference in this Election!
|
There are still some things you can do to affect the outcome of this election:
|
VOTE!
Have YOU voted? If not, now is the time...and tell your friends you did!
Every vote matters, now more than ever. It's critical for all of us to mobilize every progressive voter we know!
Join a phonebank!
On Sunday, our DC chapter joined forces with the NYC + Brooklyn chapter to make calls for Woodson Bradley (NC State Senate) and Anna Thomas (PA State House):
- We made 23,565 dials for our candidates.
- We spoke to 51 undecided voters and made 31 vote plans in North Carolina!
- We made 59 vote plans and spoke to 24 undecided voters in Pennsylvania!
|
We CAN make a difference.
In 2022, only 63 votes flipped the PA State House.

Become a Post-Election Canvass Monitor!
The ACLU is seeking volunteers to help with the important work that takes place after the election, from November 8-12, during the “official canvass", which is the process by which each County Boards of Elections (BOE) checks the results from each voting precinct for accuracy. The BOE then compiles all of the ballots from each voting method to compute the results for each race on the ballot, which must be certified by the state. This work is apolitical, but increasing threats to election integrity require additional monitoring to ensure a free and fair election for all PA Voters.

Finally, don't forget to vote all the way down the ballot and make sure your friends do the same!
State legislatures always will be our last line of defense to uphold our rights and ensure a brighter future for the entire country. And no matter what happens on November 5, we will know that we left it all on the field!

As we try to calm our anxiety, we are reminded of this wonderful passage from the first pamphlet of Thomas Paine's The American Crisis:
"These are the times that try men's souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it now deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.
"Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly. ‘Tis dearness only that gives every thing its value."
