Manning Leads Letter to USPS Ahead of the Election
Congresswoman Manning led her North Carolina Democrat colleagues in sending a letter to Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, calling on the United States Postal Service (USPS) to take extraordinary measures to ensure North Carolinians’ absentee ballots reach county boards of elections without delay.
"Upholding the right to vote and preventing election interference are critical to protecting our democracy, and we welcome your commitment to these shared American values," the Members wrote. "Given the record number of voters who will vote by mail in the 2024 election and the Postal Service’s critical role in defending election integrity, we request that USPS make public on a daily basis certain key factors regarding election mail processing, as outlined in the September Extraordinary Measures Memo, beginning this week and continuing through November 5th."

Manning Leads Letter Calling for Vote on Disaster Relief Funding
Following Hurricanes Helene and Milton, Congresswoman Manning led a letter with other House Democrats calling on House Speaker Mike Johnson to call Congress back into session to pass additional disaster funding. The letter was signed by over 60 House Democrats.
"Recent legislation has provided initial relief funds, yet these provisions fall critically short of what will be necessary to address the scale of destruction and the recovery needs for Fiscal Year 2025. We, therefore, urge you to immediately reconvene the US House of Representatives so that it can pass robust disaster relief funding," the Members wrote. "As representatives of the American people, it is our duty to ensure that every community has the resources to recover and rebuild in the wake of devastation. This is not merely a matter of policy but a profound obligation to the citizens we serve, who depend on their government for support in their most critical times of need."
