Hey John, did you see this?
Last week, Voto Latino launched the Immigrant Neighbor Fund along with Mission Asset Fund (MAF) and APIA Vote in order to provide financial assistance to undocumented and mixed-status families excluded from receiving federal COVID-19 relief funds.
You can directly support families in need today by making a contribution to the Fund: pitch in whatever you can now >> [[link removed]]

John,

During this pandemic, not only does the Trump administration continue to leave immigrants behind, but the president insists on ruthlessly attacking our families, whether through racist tweets or unfair policies like his recent move to temporarily pause all immigration into the United States.

And when Congress passed emergency relief in response to the coronavirus, immigrants and American citizens living with undocumented families were left out in the cold. All undocumented immigrants and anyone with an undocumented family member were barred from receiving resources through the CARES Act, completely denying countless families who find themselves unemployed from receiving the help they desperately need in this time of crisis. Despite the fact that undocumented immigrants pay billions in federal and state taxes each year.

That’s why Voto Latino is teaming up with Mission Asset Fund (MAF) and APIA Vote to launch the Immigrant Neighbor Fund, a way to show solidarity with our Asian American community and work to directly assist undocumented and mixed-status families excluded from receiving COVID-19 relief funds through the CARES Act.

It’s frankly appalling that the federal government would go out of its way to keep American families from collecting relief during a global pandemic simply because of immigration status or following perfectly legal tax regulations.

The fact that Donald Trump and his enablers in Congress actually sought to inflict further harm on a specific population in the middle of an unprecedented crisis shows their true nature and priorities.

Voto Latino, APIA Vote and MAF proudly stand together with you to fill a void that a racist policy promotes. We will support our neighbors in need when our government looks the other way.
