Reopening the American Heart

Taking a stand: In his remarks at the John Paul II Life Center’s annual gala in Austin, Texas, Heritage President Dr. Kevin Roberts explained how conservatives can continue to expand the pro-life, pro-family movement despite apparent setbacks.

  • “The real pro-life movement—the one that really can rescue unborn children and change our culture—isn’t the one based in Washington,” Roberts said.
  • “To truly create a culture of life, we must help moms and dads and kids—born and unborn—on the ground, eye-to-eye, in real time. Not just from conception to birth, but throughout families’ whole lives.”
  • “It’s not about legal doctrines anymore. It’s about hearts and minds,” he said.

Supreme Court: No, Non-Citizens Aren’t Allowed on Voter Rolls

Clean up: Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin received backlash from the Biden-Harris Department of Justice for removing non-citizens from voter rolls—but the Supreme Court came to the rescue.

  • Hans von Spakovsky, senior legal fellow in the Meese Center, praised the ruling, saying the DOJ needs “to investigate and prosecute these aliens, not try to force Virginia or any other state to keep them registered in voter rolls in violation of federal law.”

'Woke' FEMA Alseep At The Wheel

That’s a fact, Jack: The Biden-Harris administration’s lackluster response to Hurricane Helene show the dire need to get woke ideology out of the federal government.

  • “FEMA denies rumors that it distributes aid based on demographic [DEI] characteristics. But FEMA’s own website says otherwise,” explains Brandy Perez, research assistant in the Border Security and Immigration Center, who notes that American citizens have been neglected based on race.

Biden-Harris Administration Still Reporting Misleading Border-Crossing Numbers

There’s an app for that: After facing criticism for skyrocketing border-crossing numbers, the Biden-Harris administration needed to act. Its solution? Launching a shell game using the CBP One mobile app to direct illegal aliens to ports of entry—where their entries won’t count toward Border Patrol numbers.

  • “People followed the instructions, and the administration then could say, see, look, the numbers have dropped,” says Lora Ries, director of Heritage’s Border Security and Immigration Center.

South Korea Cannot Sit Out Taiwan Contingencies

Strength in numbers: In a new report, Bruce Klingner, senior research fellow in the Asian Studies Center, illustrates the importance of maintaining stability in northeast Asia during a potential Taiwan crisis.

  • Klingner stresses that “the United States, its allies, and its partners need to implement an extensive campaign to augment their military forces, increase co-development and co-production of weapons and munitions, and enhance multilateral security cooperation.”
