At The Trevor Project, we’re honored to celebrate Trans Parent Day—a day dedicated to the love, strength, and courage of trans parents and parents of transgender children. These families remind us every day of the power of acceptance and the importance of creating affirming spaces for LGBTQ+ young people.
** Voices of Support: Trevor Employees Reflect on the Impact of Trans Parent Day
------------------------------------------------------------
Our mission is deeply personal to many of our team members. With Trans Parent Day being such an important moment, we spoke with some of Team Trevor about their experiences as trans parents or parents of trans children. Their insights reflect the heart of what we do—supporting and uplifting LGBTQ+ young people and their families.
In a special message for Trans Parent Day ([link removed]) , Trevor’s CEO, Jaymes Black (they/he/she), reflects on the importance of this day and honors the profound impact that trans parents have on their children and communities.

As Emmett Troxel (he/him), Director of Contact Center Technology at Trevor, shares, “Facing a world that dehumanizes and stigmatizes the existence of you and your kids is terrifying, but there are places that offer love, comfort, and hope.” Emmett, both a trans parent and a parent of a trans child, reminds us of the importance of community and the hope that organizations like The Trevor Project provide.

For Kayla (they/she), Technology Support Associate at Trevor, meeting their trans mom as a teenager was a transformative experience. “She became the best mom I could have ever hoped for. Having a trans parent wasn’t just a personal experience; it changed the way I saw the world,” Kayla reflects.
