After using his first term to undermine the Affordable Care Act any way he could, Donald Trump is now readying to destroy the ACA once and for all.
Trump made his plan clear: “We want to terminate health care under Obamacare.” Nevermind the 43 million Americans set to lose their employer-sponsored insurance due to the crisis, the 22 million currently protected by the ACA who could be left with nothing, and the scores of Americans with pre-existing conditions who may never be able to get coverage if the law is repealed.
Trump has said he wants to replace the ACA -- but hasn’t given any information on how he’ll do that, or what’ll keep the country safe in the meantime. Now, the Supreme Court is gearing up to rule on the ACA for the third time in a decade. Trump’s counting on his handpicked justices coming through for him.
