Let me start with what you probably already instinctively know: Michigan is one of the most — if not the most — critical state for the 2024 campaign.

There is no winning the White House without Michigan. For Democrats, there is no holding the Senate without Michigan. Even our House delegation rests on a one-seat Democratic majority.

In all of my elections, I have historically done better than Democrats usually do in the "redder" areas of the state. That means I am finding and pulling voters other races couldn't, and that is good for Kamala Harris and every other Democrat on the ballot on Election Day.

That is our focus in these final days — and that takes resources.

So yes, this race is kind of a unicorn. It's a unique situation where control of the White House and Congress is on the line, and the Democratic Senate candidate can help the top of the ticket.
