Hi, ACLU Supporter. If you're feeling uncertain about what will happen on Tuesday, I am right there with you. However, there is one certainty: The ACLU is ready for any outcome. We understand the high stakes of this election. Abortion access, the safety of immigrant communities, and LGBTQ rights are all at risk. For many of us, these issues directly affect our lives. But I promise you, no matter how long it takes to finalize the election results, no matter what attacks may be ahead, the ACLU is on the ground fighting to ensure a free and fair election – and we need your support to fund this vital work. To help us respond quickly and effectively, you can make a donation to the ACLU right now.
This year, our legal and advocacy teams have taken on more than a dozen cases from Georgia to Pennsylvania to Michigan to Texas to stop opponents of civil liberties and civil rights from trampling on voting rights. And we're prepared, in the days following this election, to show up in counties across the country where this election may be decided with observers on the ground to safeguard the counting of ballots and in the courts if needed. In 2020, we filed more than 30 lawsuits to protect voters and safeguard the outcome of the election. This cycle alone, we've been at the forefront of over 70 investigations and legal actions across 22 states and Puerto Rico. But we're not done yet. Over the next few days, we're prepared to respond both on the ground and through litigation to ensure that your vote – no matter who you vote for – is counted. But this work requires resources – and that's why I'm asking for your help. Will you consider making a donation to the ACLU as we prepare for whatever comes next? Your support will allow us to scale our work during this moment, protect your right to vote, and ensure every vote is counted. I'm so grateful to have you on our team as we continue to protect democracy.
Anthony D. Romero
