Under the radar, an Independent mechanic named Dan Osborn is on the verge
of defeating a Republican senator in Nebraska. This week’s New York Times
poll showed this is a 2-point race!

This could fundamentally impact the balance of power in the U.S. Senate,
impacting everything from fair taxation to saving Social Security to
stopping corporate polluters to the Supreme Court.

Below are 5 quotes said by Dan Osborn on the campaign trail. They are
inspiring – not just to me, but to Democrats, Independents, and
Republicans alike in Nebraska. That’s why he’s surging.

others by donating $4 (or $40, his average donation) to help Dan Osborn
get this message out to voters? Chip in here to fuel his Get Out The Vote
operation.

This Candidate Came Along.

Dan Osborn Quotes

"I haven't always been a political guy. It really wasn't until corporate
greed came knocking on my door and I realized what the ruling class is …
less than 2% of our elected officials in both the House and Senate come
from the working class, so it's a complete misrepresentation."

If I win "the rest of the country is going to say, holy crap, did you see
what Nebraska did? They're going to be talking about it. And what it's
going to do is it's going to tell people who are nurses, teachers,
plumbers, carpenters, bus drivers, truck drivers, other mechanics…It's
going to tell them that you don't have to be a self-funding crypto
billionaire to run for office."

"We all know that the enemy is not Republican, the enemy is not Democrat.
The enemy right now is multinational corporations that are influencing our
elections and having the politicians do their bidding."

"Look, people in this country should know that if you work hard, your
paycheck should matter. You should get to own a house and some cars, put
money aside for college, not have to put Christmas on a credit card.
That's what the American dream is. It's dwindling away, and we're playing
politics with people's lives. I'm not going to do that."

"The U.S. senate is a bunch of millionaires controlled by billionaires. My
opponent, Deb Fisher is part of the problem. She's taken so much corporate
cash, she should wear patches like NASCAR."
