No matter who wins on Tuesday, a large portion of Donald Trump’s 2017 tax scam will expire. Congress will be faced with the question of either renewing the cuts or making them permanent, setting up a “fiscal cliff” showdown like we had during the Obama administration. Then, Wall Street millionaires and billionaires tried to slash Social Security benefits in the same package. Expect them to do the same next year.

Send an urgent message: Let Trump’s tax scam expire!

In the George W. Bush era and again in the Trump era, Republicans gamed the system by setting expiration dates for their policies that they had no intention of sticking to. This had the effect of understating the true costs of their policy choices. Trump touted his $2 trillion tax cut that, without the artificial sunsets, the true cost would have been $5 trillion―and he’s hoping to come back for even more!

The truth is, this money is largely going to millionaires, billionaires, and corporations―the very same ones who are funding Republican super PACs right now.

We should let Trump’s bogus tax scam expire and enact a fair tax code that makes millionaires and billionaires pay their fair share, and that protects our Social Security system!
