The Work Continues at Headwaters

Spring is here in full bloom, summer will come. Through these changing seasons, please remember that Headwaters is here with you. Our commitment to be a responsive and community-centered foundation remains strong.

And the work, just like the changing seasons, continues.

Headwaters leads with four core values: advance equity, demand inclusion, transform power, and trust in community. We are grateful to dedicated volunteers and donors like you who share those values.

Please visit www.headwatersfoundation.org/give <[link removed]>to keep our work moving forward. While you're on our website, I’d also love for you to share a message of inspiration or hope with me <[link removed]>…let me know how you’re staying connected to the friends and family you’re currently physically distanced from. I'm interested in hearing from you.

In solidarity,
Mary Delorié
Director of Individual Giving

COVID-19 reminds us that no matter the circumstances, our lives are better when we work together across race, place, gender, and issue. #RentStrike to #CancelRent Statewide Organizing Meeting <[link removed]>

Thursday, May 14th at 6:30 p.m.
Zoom Conference Registraion <[link removed]>

We have tremendous power when we’re organized and fighting for our collective interests - and the strike is our most powerful tool. But as in any strike, the key to victory is how well organized we are across the state, in every city, in every neighborhood, and in every building. Invite your roommates and family, bring your neighbors, and join us on this call to discuss strategies to win and how you can plug in! Learn from organizations that have organized buildings democratically, stopped evictions and foreclosures, and organized solidarity actions for tenants and workers facing retaliation and landlord pressure!
We can’t afford to wait for politics as usual. While some elected officials are making big promises, the big banks, landlords, and real-estate lobbyists use their wealth and power to stop any policies that threaten their profits. This is why millions of people across the country have pledged to go on a

#RentStrike <[link removed]>, and are organizing to #CancelRent <[link removed]> across the country.

Day of Action: Call Your Legislator <[link removed]>

Thursday, May 14th starting at 7 a.m.
We know that jails, prisons, and ICE detention facilities are not safe even under normal circumstances – and these are not normal circumstances. Leaving people locked up in large numbers inside cages is the equivalent of a death sentence. We know from first-hand testimony from people inside that there is no space for social distancing, hygiene supplies are scarce, medical care is woefully inadequate, and people’s immune systems are already compromised due to ongoing lack of clean water, fresh food, contact with loved ones, and time outside.

Join ReleaseMN8 and several other organizations for a day of action targeting legislators. Click the link above for details.
