Hello John!
Today, we are two days from one of the most consequential elections of our lifetimes. Though the electoral outcome is uncertain, the future is ours to write, and dignity is ours to claim. Claiming dignity is our call to action. It’s what motivated those who came before us — like Harriet, Susan, Suzan, Fred, Martin, and Cesar — and it will propel us forward in the days ahead.
We are facing unprecedented threats to our democracy, and Alliance San Diego is working with colleagues, partners, and allies to create the space for us to claim our dignity collectively. There are three inflection points ahead, and at each one, we invite you to stand with us as people of color, people of conscience, and people of culture to say proudly, We Are California!

-
November 6th is the day after the election when we will know some, but not all outcomes. Emotions will run high, and Alliance San Diego will be ready to make meaning of the results. We will work with sister organizations to meet the moment, and we will hold a community meeting on Saturday, November 16th.
-
December 6th is the day the counties in California send their election results to the legislature to certify the state results. This will be a moment of contention, given that some legislators are preparing to challenge the certification. Alliance San Diego will work in coalition and in community to ensure that our election laws are upheld.
-
January 6th is the day that Congress will take up the vote to certify the national electoral results. We know what happened in 2020, and Alliance San Diego will prepare our communities to stand in dignity, claim our dignity and protect our democracy alongside people of goodwill who are committed to the principles of nonviolence.

We at Alliance San Diego will monitor the spaces between these three inflection points to fulfill one unwavering mission: to build collective power to create a more inclusive, multiracial democracy. We anticipate a community full of emotion and in need of healing. We also anticipate the pressing need for clear plans for moving forward, and we’re here for all of it.
Today and every day, we invite you to collaborate with Alliance San Diego to cultivate a California where everyone belongs, everyone is safe, everyone can afford to live, everyone thrives, and everyone contributes their fair share. Together, we can push back on the bigots, bullies, billionaires, and big corporations that only care about themselves. With your help, we can build a democracy that protects dignity — a democracy that works for all of us! Let's come together, California!
