John,
We joined the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health this week to
launch a free online course to train contract tracers who will help stop the
spread of COVID-19. The course is available online

and is open to anyone in the world, whether they are being hired to become a
contact tracer or just want to understand the process.
Watch a video with course instructor Dr. Emily Gurley about why this is an
important first step:

The course is one component of a new initiative to develop a large-scale
contact tracing program in New York State. The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School
of Public Health, the top rated public health school in the nation, developed
the training for prospective contact tracers, who will have to complete this
course as a requirement for being hired by the State of New York to fight the
pandemic. The course is also free for health departments in cities and states
across the country and around the world to use as they expand their own contact
tracing.
