I think about political behavior a lot — what inspires or encourages someone to vote, and how that intersects with race and ethnicity. So of course I’d be drawn to an organization that was co-founded by a Black woman after experiencing voter suppression in her historic run for Governor.

Over the years, Fair Fight has served as a leading champion for voting rights and free and fair elections. Fair Fight has helped restore thousands of voters to the voting rolls, taken on voter suppression, and exposed the biggest threats to democracy head on. Protecting people of color, disabled folks, the elderly, young voters, rural voters, and the homeless and unhoused, they are dedicated to uplifting the opportunity for every voter to make their voice heard and be fairly represented.

This year, this work is more important than ever.

Across the country, and especially in Georgia, we’re seeing increasingly aggressive attacks on the right to vote:

deny
voters
their
rights;

Mass
voter
purges
in
attempts
to
remove
thousands
from
voter
rolls;
*
Xenophobic
lies
circulating
about
noncitizens
turning
out
to
vote;
*
Election
officials
attempting
to
disrupt
the
election
certification
process
and
administration.

And with two well-known and documented election deniers running on the Republican ticket for the highest office, we must be committed to doing all we can to fight for our freedoms.
