But it gets worse than that: Cuomo is using the people who flocked to New York at considerable risk to themselves as pawns in his battle with the federal government for a bailout.

Many hospitals and healthcare providers will be raising prices post-coronavirus crisis. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services issued a rule that would ensure patients have the right to know about such pricing changes. However, the American Hospital Association is challenging the rule before the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to stop the price transparency rule from taking effect. The new price transparency regulations were important before the coronavirus. Some Americans can't afford a lockdown, such as Texas salon owner Shelley Luther, who was sentenced to jail for defying the order to serve her customers. The judge told her that he would commute her sentence if she admitted her actions were selfish. However, she replied, "I have to disagree with you, sir, when you say that I am selfish because feeding my kids is not selfish. I have hair stylists that are going hungry because they’d rather feed their kids… So sir, if you think the law is more important than kids being fed, then please go ahead with your decision. But I’m not going to shut the salon."
