It’s no secret that there’s a lot of people in Congress who are only there to play partisan politics and get their names trending on social media. But I’m not one of those people. So no, when I helped seniors across Kansas save hundreds of dollars in insulin every year, there weren’t wall-to-wall cable news headlines. But thousands of Kansans had one less kitchen table bill to worry about. When the bipartisan infrastructure law I fought for finally passed, my name didn’t trend on Twitter. But we kickstarted over 300 construction projects right here in Kansas. And when we brought in millions of dollars to fund broadband expansion in rural communities, no, the New York Times didn’t send a camera crew to our office to cover it. But we bridged the digital gap and got hundreds of rural communities connected and online. The fact is, I’m proud of my record of cutting through the partisanship and delivering real progress for Kansas families. But we can’t expect anyone to get that message out for us — it’s up to us, this team, to reach every single voter and show them what we’ve gotten done.
