Dear John,

Our countdown to Election Day series continues! As we creep even closer to November 5, we want to urge you to vote YES on ballot Question 4: The Maine Trails Bond.

The forests, lakes, and mountains of Maine make our state special, and trails are essential for exploring, recreating, and finding solace. But Maine trails are underfunded, and many of them are falling into disrepair because of weather impacts.

Communities need funding to repair trail networks, build new ones, and make trails more accessible so all can access and enjoy the outdoors, while contributing to Maine’s vital outdoor recreation economy.

That’s why we need to pass the first ever Trails Bond! The Trails Bond has broad bipartisan support and would fund recreational and multi-use trails that bolster local economies, strengthen community connections, and improve our quality of life.

Read more about the Trails Bond and the coalition of municipalities, businesses, and organizations that support it here and remember to vote YES on Question 4 to support Maine trails. For more information on the other statewide ballot questions, check out this helpful overview from our friends at the League of Women Voters of Maine Education Fund.

And, we hope you can find some time to get outside on this beautiful Maine weekend!
