John, Calling all SumOfUs members who are singers, artists, musicians, lovers of music, or just want to try something new & exciting while spending so much time at home! SumOfUs has teamed up with a record label to write a song that we can all sing together -- and if enough of us record a few seconds today, we could release the song to the world... as early as next week! Taking part is simple. Click the link below to listen to the song, choose your favorite part, and then follow the directions to easily record it. Click here to add your voice to our song. When our lives or our world feel chaotic, often the best medicine is music. That’s why the most powerful movements in history have derived resilience and inspiration from singing songs together. It’s not about whether you have a nice singing voice (there’s lots of parts like snaps and claps that will take just a few minutes to record) - it’s about the comfort and connection we’ll get from each other as we create something beautiful together. And while our movement fights hard on multiple fronts to challenge corporate abuse, tackle the disinformation poisoning our democracies, and demand economic justice for all… we could really use a heavy dose of that comfort, connection and resilience. Once we have everyone’s recordings, our friends at the non-profit record label We Could be Music will do world-class post-production and release the song and video on every digital music channel from YouTube to Spotify! Years from now, the art that came out of this time will help tell the story of how we pulled through the crisis together. Our movement could be a part of telling that story.
