Open enrollment to shop, compare, and enroll in a health care plan is happening now through January 15th. Since we passed the Affordable Care Act, 50 million people have gained coverage. Today, more Americans have health insurance than any other time in our nation’s history.
If you enroll in coverage by December 15th, it will begin on January 1st. If you enroll between December 16, 2024, and January 15, 2025, your coverage will begin on February 1st. You can shop for plans at AccessHealthCT.com, call 1-855-805-4325 for assistance, or visit one of the in-person enrollment fairs taking place across the state this month.
- Hartford: Monday, Nov. 4 at Make the Road CT, located at 885 Wethersfield Avenue, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Register here.
- Torrington: Thursday, Nov. 7 at Torrington City Hall, located at 140 Main Street, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Register here.
- Middletown: Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the Community Health Center of Middletown, located at 675 Main Street, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Register here.
- Bristol: Wednesday, Nov. 13 at Bristol Public Library, located at 5 High Street, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Register here.
I have long advocated to expand health coverage through the Affordable Care Act to our nation’s DACA recipients, and this year, for the first time, the nearly 3,000 Dreamers in Connecticut will be able to enroll in health insurance through Access Health CT.
