Dear Friend,

Autumn is now in full force across Alabama. The change in the colors of the leaves and colder temperatures are reminders of the transitions we make during this season. However, there are more transitions we can make this fall other than switching to long sleeves and jackets. This year, we can make a transition from a government filled with unelected bureaucrats to one that actually listens to the American people.

Due to the policies pushed by the Biden-Harris administration for the past three years, the cost of groceries has gone up over $1,100 per month for the average family. Our border is wide open, violent crime in our communities has increased, and our allies across the world are being threatened and have lost trust in the Biden-Harris Administration. When disaster struck Florida and North Carolina, FEMA claimed they were short on funding to help yet they had over $1 billion available to help illegal immigrants.

My House Republican colleagues and I have been working to counteract these policies and put the safety and well-being of Americans as our top priority. As a member of the Oversight and Accountability Committee, we have worked to bring accountability to the Biden-Harris administration. On the Energy and Commerce Committee, we have been working to lower energy prices for the American people and roll back the ridiculous and extremely expensive regulations that are driving up the price of groceries and everything else. Finally, on the House Republican Policy Committee, I have been working on educating our members on sound policy solutions. Should Trump be elected, we are prepared to get to work on day one and put America first.

I hope you will read this newsletter to learn more about the work my staff and I are doing on your behalf. Protecting Our Elections

Only American citizens should be able to vote in American elections. It may seem simple, but Democrats seem to disagree. Especially at a time when illegal immigrants are crossing our borders at record rates, we must ensure only legal citizens are deciding who is representing them. I applaud Alabama’s Secretary of State Wes Allen for fulfilling his Constitutional duty of protecting elections in our state and removing non-citizens from our voter rolls. Unfortunately, the Biden-Harris Department of Justice is punishing him for doing the right thing. This is why I was an original cosponsor of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act which I believe is necessary to protect our elections in the future. The SAVE Act passed in the House with every Republican voting for it and only five Democrats supporting it. Unfortunately, the Democrat controlled Senate refuses to even allow it to be considered.

Defending American Companies Abroad

Mexico’s continued disregard for the rule of law signals to companies in the United States and the rest of the world that Mexico cannot be trusted. In case you missed, the Mexican government illegally took over a port facility owned and operated by Vulcan Materials Company. By taking this facility from Vulcan Materials, the Mexican Government sets a dangerous precedent for our trade relationship and is just one more example of how the weakness of the Biden-Harris administration threatens American interests.

Updates from the House Republican Policy Committee

I have the honor of being the Chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee. While most of our work is educating members of Congress on policy issues, I wanted to make sure I highlighted some of our recent projects for you, as well.

After three years of Biden-Harris policies, many American families, especially lower income families and senior citizens on fixed incomes, cannot afford to adequately heat their homes or buy groceries. In addition, because of the Biden-Harris open border policies, American cities are dealing with some of the most violent gangs law enforcement has ever seen. Read our most recent policy guides addressing these issues below.

If you wish to share your thoughts or comments regarding legislation, please email me using this link from my website or call our D.C. office at (202) 225-4921. Additionally, you can view my voting record and bills that I have sponsored and co-sponsored here.
