November 1, 2024

Friends,

I hope you and your family are well! I wanted to provide you with a few updates regarding what’s going on –

How the Trump Tax Cuts Helped the Third District

Trump Tax Cuts saved taxpayers in SC-03 on average 24%.

A family of 4 making $61,412, the median income, would see a $1,151 tax increase if the Trump Tax Cuts expire after 2025.

If the Trump Tax Cuts expire, here’s how SC-03 would be affected:

  • 79,480 families would see their household’s Child Tax Credit cut in half.
  • 90% of taxpayers would see their Guaranteed Deduction slashed in half.
  • 35,910 Small Businesses would be hit with a 43.4% tax rate if the 199A Small Business Deduction expires.
  • 5,511 taxpayers would be impacted by the return of the Alternative Minimum Tax.
  • 6,850 Family-Owned Farms would have their Death Tax Exemption slashed in half next year.

9 Ways President Trump secured the border... THEN, Kamala Harris became the Border Czar.

  • Fully enforced America’s immigration laws.
  • Prosecuted a record number of immigration-related cases.
  • Built almost 500 miles of border wall.
  • Stopped discretionary federal grant funding from going to sanctuary cities.
  • Urged Congress to pass legislation that would stiffen punishments on individuals who re-enter the U.S. illegally.
  • Ended Catch and Release. President Trump negotiated Remain in Mexico.
  • Created the National Vetting Center, which is the most advanced and comprehensive visa screening system in the world.
  • Trained frontline Border Patrol agents to assist U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) with performing credible fear screenings for illegal border crossers, which helped combat asylum claim abuse and backlog for authentic asylum claims.

Pushing Back on Illegal Immigration

I am proud to stand with my colleagues in condemning Wilson Osorio's actions. As a paid U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) employee, Osorio used his knowledge to promote illegal immigration on his social media accounts and exploit American taxpayers. We are calling for the immediate termination of his employment.

“No Funding for Illegal Migrant Billboards Act” will ensure government agencies and taxpayer funds cannot be used to advertise immigration services to illegal aliens in border states.

The Biden/Harris administration is permitting wide-spread fraud of the CHNV program – unlawfully receiving up to 30,000 inadmissible aliens each month into the United States from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. Over 500,000 aliens have entered through the CHNV program from these countries.

I stand with my colleagues to demand the Biden/Harris administration put an end to the abuses of these unlawful practices that are placing a significant burden on communities around our nation.

District News

Local public servant and Oconee County school board member Buddy Herring announced his retirement after more than five decades of work. He graduated from Fair Play High School in 1957 with his graduating class of 12 students. Immediately after graduating from college, Mr. Herring began his time as a school administrator. He was an educator, a principal, and a superintendent before running for the school board.

The Cancer Association in Anderson opened a new facility this week. The new facility serves to fulfill increased local needs and expand upon current projects. The CAA has been standing for more than two decades. The CAA director explained that Anderson County needs more resources for cancer cases, which currently stand at an above average number.

Over 100 South Carolina National Guardsmen will be departing from Laurens to join forces with border security operatives. The reasoning behind this deployment is the Southwest Border Mission. Leadership within the SC 1055th Transportation Company has encouraged National Guardsmen to seize this opportunity and appreciate how rare this opportunity is.
