Email from Rep. McCaul Cherishing the Right to Vote Today is the last day to participate in early voting in Texas, but the polls will open back up on Tuesday. Be sure to stop by your polling location and make your voice heard! Despite the challenges facing our nation, I thank God that Americans retain the fundamental right to vote. In far too many dictatorial regimes around the world, citizens are silenced and even tortured for voicing their beliefs. May we never take our voting rights and responsibilities for granted. Dolly Parton and Peace Through Music The world is on fire, with our adversaries growing more aggressive each day and seeking to damage America's reputation on the world stage. As chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, I sign off on all weapons sales and believe it's crucial we maintain U.S. "hard power" — our military might. But there are also other tools at our disposal to promote American leadership and global peace. Two years ago, my Peace Through Music Diplomacy Act became law. As a guitar player and a music lover, I believe music has a powerful and inexplicable ability to transcend cultures and bring people together. That's why I introduced this bill — to leverage the unique power of music as another tool to advance U.S. foreign policy goals. In the spirit of that bill, the State Department now presents the Peace Through Music Award to one musician each year whose music has promoted peace and represented the United States well across the globe. This year's award winner was country music legend Dolly Parton. Dolly Parton wears her heart on her sleeve and embodies everything this bill stands for. I look forward to seeing how she and other musicians will continue using their gifts to promote American ideals and preserve the promise of freedom and democracy. Click here to read more. McCaul with R&B Duo Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, After the Passage of His Peace Through Music Diplomacy Act The Biden-Harris Border Crisis Rages On On day one in office, President Biden and Vice President Harris began overturning the border policies that kept our communities safe. Now fentanyl, human traffickers, and gangs are pouring across our open border. Far too much damage has been done. Americans are demanding order at the border. I spoke more about the Biden-Harris administration's border crisis — and the need to return to President Trump's successful border policies — on Fox News with Harris Faulkner. ⬇️ Click to watch ICYMI: McCaul on Fox Business with Maria Bartiromo Click to watch ICYMI: McCaul in the News The Battalion: President Welsh formally installed as president in investiture ceremony Read here KBTX: Texas Semiconductor Summit highlights industry‘s future of expansion, innovation: ’It is a national security asset' Read here New York Times: Bots Linked to China Target Republican House and Senate Candidates, Microsoft Say Read here Click here to view this email as a webpage. www.mccaul.house.gov Washington, D.C. 2300 Rayburn House Office Building Washington, DC 20515 Phone: 202-225-2401 Fax: 202-225-5955 Austin 11614 FM 2244 Suite 160 Austin, TX 78738 Phone: (512) 770-8929 Fax: (512) 473-0514 College Station 175 Century Square Drive Suite 210 College Station, TX 77840 Phone: (979) 431-6480 Fax: (979) 431-5180 Rep.
