BREAKING NEWS: KARA EASTMAN BIG CONGRESSIONAL VICTORY!

Kara Eastman just demolished her opponents in the Nebraska congressional primary, putting her a big step closer to replacing a Donald Trump rubber stamp with a bold progressive...in a red state!

PCCC members donated $300,000 to Kara's campaign in 2018 -- and she got 49% against the Republican incumbent with no help from the establishment. This year, national Dems see this as a prime pickup opportunity. Thousands of us chipped in to her victory tonight, The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) endorsed her on the PCCC email list this week, and Kara is ready to finish the job!

Her opponent actively campaigned against Medicare For All, a Green New Deal, and big ideas...and Kara won by inspiring people.

Other great progressives have won the nomination and face tight races in November, and a few neck-and-neck primaries are around the cornder. With the coronavirus, candidates are spending extra on virtual town halls, extensive phone programs, texting, and online ads.

Can you build on today's victory? Donate $1 each to Kara's general election campaign and several amazing bold progressives running for Congress in tight upcoming elections. Click here.

Bold progressives Mondaire Jones (NY-17) and Dana Balter (NY-24) are up next with the New York primary on June 23.

Just like Kara, Dana came within striking distance of defeating her Republican incumbent opponent in 2018, and is back to finish the job in 2020. Dana is a community organizer, professor, and researcher into publicly funded elections. She’s also a lifelong advocate for people with disabilities, starting with her beloved younger brother Jonathan. She’s running for Medicare For All, women’s rights, universal pre-K, and higher wages for workers. Rush Dana a donation here.

Mondaire is running in a crowded primary for an open blue seat in a district hit hard by the coronavirus. Some of Mondaire's opponents can donate millions to their own campaigns, and some are taking money from corporate PACs and fossil-fuel lobbyists. Meanwhile, Mondaire is running on a platform that includes Medicare for All, universal child care, student debt forgiveness, and the Green New Deal, and his campaign is fueled by small-dollar donations. Can you rush a donation his way?

The New York primary holds extra significance this year, as ground zero for the coronavirus pandemic, and an early referendum on the Trump administration's response. With new hot spots spiking across the country, more and more Americans will relate to New Yorkers' experience. Let's send a strong message about the kind of leaders voters want to see replace Trump and his cronies.

In this moment, we need more #WarrenDemocrats -- folks who are ready to take serious action in this crisis. As Mark Ruffalo said to PCCC members recently, "We need more members of Congress willing to challenge power, fight for working people, boldly fight the climate crisis, and think big to solve our current healthcare crisis."

Here are progressive congressional candidates who need your help retooling their campaigns in this coronavirus world. Please chip in what you can to their races today:

Mondaire Jones (NY-17) is running in a crowded primary for an open blue seat. (The previous Democrat decided to retire.) Mondaire was born in his district, and was raised in Section 8 housing by a single mom who worked multiple jobs. He earned a Stanford BA, worked at the Department of Justice, graduated from Harvard Law School, founded a nonprofit, and then returned home to work as an attorney. He’s running on a platform that includes Medicare for All, universal child care, student debt forgiveness, and the Green New Deal. He’s endorsed by Democracy for America, Collective PAC, the Victory Fund -- and Elizabeth Warren! The NY primary has been moved to June 23. Chip in $1 to Mondaire's campaign here.

Dana Balter (NY-24) is a bold progressive champion who is fighting for a fair shot at success for everyone -- that means getting to Medicare for All; an economy that works for working families; and a political system free from the influence of big money. In one of the last two Republican-held Hillary Clinton districts, Dana is just 2 1/2 points away from defeating the incumbent who is a rubber stamp for Donald Trump, making this a top pick-up opportunity in the country. Her primary is on June 23. Chip in $1 to Dana's campaign here.

Arati Kreibich (NJ-5) is challenging corporate conservative Dem Josh Gottheimer in the delayed NJ primary on July 7. Gottheimer organized other conservative Democrats to kill attempts to end child cages at the border -- an absurd position for someone representing a suburb of New York. He is funded by Wall Street and votes their way. Arati won election as a progressive City Councilwoman, attended our candidate training, and is fighting for Medicare For All, Green New Deal and challenging big-money special interests. Chip in $1 to Arati's campaign here.

Candace Valenzuela (TX-24) is running to replace retiring Republican Rep. Kenny Marchant in TX-24, one of the most flippable races in the country in 2020. Candace grew up in a military family that struggled financially and was homeless for a time. She went on to become an educator, and then was the first Latina and African-American woman elected to her local school board. She is also one of our training alums, and is endorsed by Elizabeth Warren! After coming in the top two in the Texas primary, Candace advanced to the party's runoff, which has now been pushed back to July 14. Chip in $1 to Candace's campaign here.

Mike Siegel (TX-10) is running to unseat Republican incumbent Michael McCaul, who votes with Trump 96.4% of the time. Mike nearly beat McCaul last cycle — with no institutional support. Mike is a former union organizer, public school teacher, and an Austin city attorney who took on Texas Republicans to demand gun reforms. As a civil rights lawyer he also sued employers on behalf of women who experienced workplace discrimination and whistleblowers who suffered retaliation. Mike is endorsed by local and national unions, and by the Sunrise Movement for his commitment to the Green New Deal. He ran in a competitive primary on Super Tuesday, coming in first but advancing to a runoff that has now been pushed back to July 14. Chip in $1 to Mike's campaign here.

Georgette Gómez (CA-53) is running for an open blue seat against Democrat Sara Jacobs, an heiress whose billionaire grandparents bankrolled her campaign via a richly-funded Super PAC. Georgette is a first-generation American, the daughter of immigrants. As she says, she had "the privilege of documents" and her parents did not, and as a result, she saw how much they struggled against the system. She spent a decade as a community organizer working on environmental justice, land use decisions and the impacts of heavy industry, and then became the first queer Latina member of the San Diego city council, where she chairs the transit system and put forward a resolution against the border wall. She is endorsed by the California Democratic Party, the California Federation of Teachers, SEIU, UNITE HERE, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez! Chip in $1 to Georgette's campaign here.

Jon Hoadley (MI-06) is running against Congressman Fred Upton, former chair of the Energy Committee and one of the worst Republicans on climate. Jon is one of the few openly gay members of the Michigan state legislature and has been a champion for progressive issues throughout his career. He supports Medicare for All, expanding Social Security, and the Green New Deal. Chip in $1 to Jon's campaign here.

Rep. Katie Porter (CA-45) regularly goes viral on YouTube by grilling big corporate executives. As a single mom who spent years advocating for consumers (like her mentor, Elizabeth Warren), she flipped a red district by focusing on how issues impact real families. She is bold -- and was the first red-to-blue freshman to call for impeachment. Katie says, "I’m grateful to the Progressive Change Campaign Committee for all the fundraising, volunteers, and support" in 2018 -- including over $165,000 through 13,000 donations to her campaign. Chip in $1 to Katie's campaign here.

J.D. Scholten (IA-4) is a populist former baseball player who came 3 points from defeating white nationalist Congressman Steve King in 2018! J.D. says "a Green New Deal to pursue environmental justice, create jobs, improve infrastructure, and combat climate change must bring rural communities to the decision-making table and address Big Ag monopolies that are squeezing out small and family farmers." He tells supporters, "If you're lucky enough to be in the 1%, this government is working for you" and that America must move toward a goal of Medicare For All, ensuring that all Americans have comprehensive, affordable, and quality health care coverage. The IA primary is on June 2. Chip in $1 to J.D.'s campaign here.

Rep. Mike Levin (CA-49) is a progressive who was elected to serve in a red district last November. A clean energy advocate, Mike was an original co-sponsor of the Green New Deal, and he has been appointed to the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis because he believes climate change to be the most pressing issue of our time. Mike refuses to accept corporate PAC contributions and is grateful to the thousands of PCCC Members who stepped up to help him win in 2018! Chip in $1 to Mike's campaign here.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
