There is nothing I love more than traveling across North Carolina, having conversations with the people who call this state home. And while those in-person conversations aren’t possible in this new reality, I’m grateful for the opportunity to connect with so many North Carolinians virtually to hear about their hopes and concerns during this challenging time.

You see, growing up in Lexington, we didn’t check voter registration cards before we took care of our neighbors. We believed in service, hard work, and fighting for justice. And now, as this campaign continues in the midst of a pandemic, being clear about the values that have always grounded me feels more important than ever.

When I have virtual town halls and other online events with folks from every corner of our state, I see it as a chance to check in with my neighbors and hear firsthand about the change we need to start driving as soon as I’m elected to the U.S. Senate in November. Because for the past six years, Thom Tillis has not listened to North Carolinians.
