Overview:This week, members of CCUSA's Government Relations team met with Congressional offices regarding the Farm Bill. While acknowledging that Congress is under pressure with tight budgets and timelines, CCUSA reminded the members that the Farm Bill, particularly its nutrition component, is an important part of the safety net for people who are food insecure. Not having adequate food impacts individuals' and families' ability to elevate themselves. The Government Relations team also met with Congressional offices regarding CCUSA tax policy priorities for the upcoming tax discussion.
During November and December, the Government Relations team will continue to meet with Congressional offices on CCUSA appropriations, Farm Bill, and tax priorities.
Like a great many of the U.S. population, members of Congress are focusing on the elections next week. However, they still need to agree on funding the government. With little time left in this congressional session, another continuing resolution will likely be the way forward.

Our freedoms respect the dignity of individuals and their consciences and allow us to come together for the common good. Election seasons, therefore, should contain a sense of gratitude and hope. Our love for this country, our patriotism, properly impels us to vote."
