Legislators in Jefferson City are pushing through a new ballot initiative that would undo the Clean Missouri redistricting reform passed in 2018. Language in their proposal could hurt minority communities disproportionately and non-partisan analysts say this is just another "discriminatory scheme that disadvantages communities of color."

When A.G. Holder calls our fight to end gerrymandering a civil rights struggle, it's because of efforts like we're seeing in Missouri.

We're witnessing politicians that want to undo the 2018 election and suppress voters through extreme gerrymanders yet again. And they're willing to do it at the expense of our most vulnerable communities.

The continued efforts in states like Missouri to dilute the voice of communities that have been oppressed for far too long prove the power of A.G. Holder's words -- that our fight to restore our democracy continues to be a civil rights struggle.
