1.When is the voting deadline?
The public vote closes at midnight, November 30th.
2. If I'm not a sports expert how will I know who to vote for?
Our voting page provides thumbnail bios/photos of all the candidates (plus the option to write-in a vote). The voting experience is easy, fun and even educational!
3. How are the candidates on the voting page determined?
A statewide panel of journalists, athletes, officials and administrators review and update the candidates page annually.
4. What if I want to select someone not on the voting page?
Write-in campaigns have been very effective in raising awareness and garnering votes for potential inductees.The public is encouraged to write-in a candidate they feel is worthy of consideration and encourage others to do the same.
5. What is the public's role in the selection process?
The cumulative vote from the public is compiled into one ballot ranking the overall top 10 People and top 5 Moments. The public ballot is the equivalent to the ballot of each selection panel member.
The selection panel must review the full public voting results and all submitted public public recommendations before casting their own ballots at the selection panel meeting December 3rd. More info on the selection process here.
