What's On In November?
Up Heartbreak Hill (2012)

This November, POV is proud to present another celebrated lineup of documentaries celebrating World Indigenous Peoples Month ([link removed]) , highlighting the enduring power and presence of Indigenous communities worldwide.

Honoring Indigenous Voices and Visions: Join us for Twice Colonized ([link removed]) , where Inuit lawyer and activist Aaju Peter champions her community’s rights while navigating personal grief. Experience hope and anticipation in Winter's Yearning ([link removed]) , as residents of Maniitsoq, Greenland, look towards a new smelting plant for economic and political independence. In The Song of the Butterflies ([link removed]) , Rember Yahuarcani, an Indigenous painter from the Peruvian Amazon, reconnects with his heritage to rejuvenate his creativity. Up Heartbreak Hill ([link removed]) explores the complex decisions faced by Navajo youth, contemplating futures at home or afar. The documentaries Standing Above the Clouds ([link removed]) and Shirampari: Legacies of the River ([link removed])
showcase the fierce activism of Native Hawaiians and Amazonians, protecting their territories from environmental threats.

Season 37 Premiere: Highlighting our November schedule is the broadcast premiere of The Body Politic ([link removed]) on Monday, November 25. Follow Brandon Scott, the ambitious young mayor of Baltimore, as he tackles the city’s chronic violence and reveals a pathway toward national healing.

Special Encore Features: Don’t miss the encore streaming of The Mole Agent ([link removed]) , available until January 25, 2025. This intriguing story follows Sergio, a private investigator turned retirement home resident, as he uncovers deeply personal stories from fellow residents.
