Sharing Information: What Providers Need to Know About the CMS Access Rule
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services recently released the final *Ensuring Access to Medicaid Services Rule *(commonly referred to as the Access Rule.) It includes new requirements for direct care workforce compensation, waiting lists, timeliness of access to approved home and community-based services, critical incident management to improve health, safety and service quality, person-centered planning, quality measurement and more.
This presentation provides an overview of the Access Rule and highlights the challenges and opportunities providers are likely to experience as states move forward with their efforts to meet the requirements of the new rule.
