FinLit training in Philadelphia was first of three; next stop, Chicago
Consumer Action hosted a financial literacy train-the-trainer in Philadelphia in September—the first of three free trainings incorporating our newly updated Money Management 1-2-3 curriculum and offering participants the opportunity to receive a financial education mini-grant. In this regular feature, we detail recent actions taken by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). This month, the CFPB has made it easier to switch banks and give consumers some control over their personal financial data, and it fired a warning shot at medical debt collectors. Read more.
Class Action Database: Citibank on the hook for illegal robocalls
Consumer Action maintains a database of class actions so that interested consumers can learn more, join a pending action or make a claim. Class action lawsuits are an important element of consumer protection and can force changes to anti-consumer business practices and make bad actors return ill-gotten gains to consumers. Read more.
