The only thing I could hear was my own voice. Screaming.
You can’t manufacture that scream. It’s a harrowing sound to hear a man who believes he’s about to die, screaming for God and for his Mom.

We hit a roadside bomb and it blew up my Humvee. I remember as the bomb went off, I was soaked in diesel fuel and I was burning, essentially from my knees up.
I tried to stop, drop, and roll, I tried to get the flames out. But I couldn’t.
My face was on fire and I couldn’t see anything. I just continued to burn.
At that moment, I gave up the will to live. Death would have been a relief.
But then, I heard the voice of one of my soldiers immediately say “Sir, I’ve got you!” And that was my rebirth.
John, this is retired Army Captain Sam Brown. One version of me died in the desert of Kandahar, Afghanistan. But God saved me for a purpose.

In the hospital, I met my future wife, Amy. She has helped me heal so much during and after my recovery. We have raised three kids, started a business, and lived our version of the American Dream.
But I feel called to serve our country once again.
The American Dream is becoming unattainable for so many, and times are tough. They’re going to get a whole lot tougher unless we do something about it.
When you’ve got other Americans under fire, you don’t hesitate. You run to the sound of the gunfire.
I’m not running for Senate for my own sake. This is about my fellow Nevadans and Americans.

My message is for everyone who feels hurt or discouraged as a result of our country’s failed political leadership. We have a choice this election year. My hope will never be extinguished, it’s REIGNITED!
Together, we will push through and we will overcome. Your struggle is my struggle. As the next deciding vote in the Senate, I will fight to bring down prices, cut taxes, secure the border, and convey strength to our enemies across the globe.
My message for you, Friend, is one of hope. Sometimes, that’s all someone needs to go from giving up to having faith.
America, I’ve got you!
