An exciting chapter for Chinn Park Library is coming with renovations that will align with Prince William Public Libraries’ (PWPL) Strategic Plan, to foster an environment for approachable, adaptive experts who can evolve to meet the changing needs of the community. The anticipated three-week closure will focus on enhancing staff offices and shared employee spaces, which have remained unchanged since the library’s opening in 1991. By investing in the workspace, PWPL demonstrates a commitment to its employees where they can thrive and, in turn, deliver superior service to library patrons.

On November 15, Prince William County will join communities across the nation in celebration of America Recycles Day, an annual awareness campaign dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling. County staff and Keep Prince William Beautiful volunteers will be onsite at Chinn Park Regional Library on November 13, and Central Library on November 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to talk with residents about recycling in Prince William County. You can also participate in the “I Recycle” pledge contest for a chance to win a prize!

In a recent update to the Board of County Supervisors, the Department of Public Works reported on their progress in keeping county roadways clean, to include the hiring of additional litter crews. As part of these initiatives, the county also launched a public awareness campaign featuring "Trashy the Raccoon" [ [link removed] ] to educate residents on litter’s environmental impact. "Trashy" humorously challenges community members with the slogan, “I’m a raccoon. What’s your excuse?” reminding everyone to help keep the community clean. Members of the CoC help shape strategic priorities, make key decisions, and set community standards. The CoC is especially seeking individuals with lived experience—those currently experiencing or who have experienced homelessness—to provide valuable insights by joining as committee members
