Conservative estimates show that taxpayers provide at least $20 Billion in subsidies to the oil and gas industry every year. Worse, oil and gas companies emit methane, carbon dioxide, and other greenhouse gasses. Sulfur dioxide and other emissions poison your neighbors as fracking inches closer and closer to our homes and schools. Even worse, most oil and gas wells and pipelines built in the last 100 years are abandoned and never cleaned up. These “zombie” wells are blamed for explosions, river and groundwater pollution, and destruction of entire ecosystems in California, Colorado, Texas, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, and anywhere that has ever had oil and gas production.
