We have a remarkable milestone to share:

The United States government, under the leadership of the Biden-Harris Administration, is currently funding UNFPA's lifesaving work at the highest levels in history.

In direct response to U.S. government funding in 2023, we reached 3,066,005 women and girls with lifesaving care and services. When you hear news about a catastrophic earthquake, tsunami, conflict, drought, or famine, the U.S. relies on UNFPA as a trusted partner to deliver critical supplies and health care to women and girls globally.

But here’s the heartbreaking truth: This lifesaving relief is not guaranteed.

In fact, the U.S. government has withheld funding to UNFPA for 19 of the last 39 years.

With a presidential election just around the corner, we don’t know what will happen after November and whether the new U.S. president will decide to fund UNFPA.

This potential risk is the reason why USA for UNFPA asks for support and contributions from people like you. Because with so many unknowns, one thing has not changed: Women and girls are counting on us.
