Coming soon: Land&People Fall/Winter Issue

John,

It's an exciting time at Trust for Public Land, as the
fall/winter issue of Land&People magazine will soon be
in mailboxes across the country. Land&People is our
twice-yearly magazine for members that gives a deep dive into
TPL's work to protect public land and create parks.

Here is a preview of what members will find in this upcoming
issue:

There's an insightful Q&A with National Board of Directors
member Anton Seals Jr., a deep dive into health and nature with TPL
Health Director Dr. Pooja Tandon, a tribal and Indigenous lands
spotlight on Ocmulgee Mounds in Georgia, and the first "From Our
President" letter from our new CEO, Dr. Carrie Besnette Hauser.

Among the features are compelling profiles from our community
engagement work in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, where people
are bridging divides and forming real friendships through park
building. Next is an excellent piece by author Arionne Nettles on
several projects in Chicago where TPL partner organizations are using
public land to strengthen their communities

There's a photo essay on our Community Schoolyards work in
Dallas, Texas, featuring testimonials from residents who've directly
experienced and benefited from our projects there. And the last
feature shines a light on a truly groundbreaking park in San
Francisco: India Basin Waterfront Park, which celebrated the opening
of its first section this month.

Closing out the issue is a personal essay about the unexpected role
parks played in helping my family connect amid the challenge of mental
illness.

Feeling inspired and want to read more? We can help with that! Become
a member by Sunday, November 3, and we'll send you the newest
edition of Land&People.
