As the Policy and Rules Administrator, you will serve as a key expert within the External Affairs Division. This role focuses on implementing policies and rules that align operations, set behavioral expectations across the agency, mitigate risks, and connect the agency’s mission, vision, values, goals, and strategies to daily work. You will lead rule and policy-making efforts and provide review and analysis to the Policy and Rules Manager to ensure compliance with legal requirements and best practices. You will be responsible for administering the rulemaking, policy, and procedure development processes, coordinating with agency leaders on policy activities and stakeholder engagement, and advising staff on the Administrative Procedures Act, as well as state and federal statutes. Your role ensures that policies and rules are developed, reviewed, and maintained to promote consistency, efficiency, transparency, and adherence to best practices in state government. This position fosters a Lean organizational culture that emphasizes respect, openness, trust, safety, transparency, collaborative problem-solving, data-driven management, and continuous improvement. You will focus on coaching and mentoring to create a positive work environment where all staff are encouraged to excel.
