Hi John —
Wow, big update! Earlier today, we got word that our advocacy efforts turned heads at the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
Apparently, ATF leaders woke up to THOUSANDS of emails from Brady supporters demanding they take immediate action to regulate and monitor ghost guns.
We're getting through to them! And we can't let up. Please, if you haven't already, will you send a message now?
John, it is truly OUTRAGEOUS that the ATF doesn't regulate ghost guns....that anyone can go online, without a background check, and buy parts to make a gun at home.
Whenever I mention ghost guns to my friends outside of Brady, their response is always pure shock and outrage. They can't believe a federal agency like ATF just turns a blind eye to the ghost gun market. And neither can I. Please, join me in demanding the ATF take action.

P.S. If you already sent a message to ATF, will you please forward this email to your friends? I really believe that if more of us sound the alarm about the dangers of ghost guns, we can get ATF's ear and create the change we need. Let's get loud!

Subject: did you watch 60 Minutes last night??
John,
Last night, 60 Minutes reported on ghost guns. I watched it, and it was deeply disturbing.
Among the people they interviewed was Bryan Muehlberger, whose 15-year-old daughter, Gracie, was murdered at Saugus High School in November. The shooter, another highschooler, used a ghost gun — which can be bought online, including by minors, and assembled at home.
I'd never heard of ghost guns before I started working at Brady. Gracie's dad, Bryan Muehlberger said he'd never heard of them, either — not until Gracie was murdered by one.
Why don't more Americans know about ghost guns? I've wondered this since I started working at Brady. Because the facts are shocking. Ghost guns are:
- Designed to avoid all gun laws
- Untraceable and unserialized
- Available to buy without a background check
As 60 Minutes explained, this criteria is exactly ghost guns are a growing a weapon of choice among people who are legally prohibited from buying guns. So, what are we doing about it? We need federal action from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and we need it— immediately!
For far too long now, the ATF has ignored the dangers posed by ghost guns. No more — especially not now, when retailers are reporting that sales of ghost guns are SURGING amid the pandemic.
We need to sound the alarm, band together, and demand solutions that will save lives. Thank you for joining me in taking action.
In solidarity,
Renee Davidson
