Colwick park-and-ride closed tomorrow

Nottingham's park-and-ride at Colwick will be closed to passengers tomorrow (Saturday 1 November).

This is because of a fireworks event being hosted by the Jockey Club on the site. The park-and-ride will reopen on Monday (4 November).

Platform access removed from station footbridge in three-week trial

East Midlands Railway has this week removed access to platforms via Nottingham station's footbridge in a move to reduce fare evasion. [ [link removed] ]

Customers who want to access platforms one to six will instead need to use the main entrance of the station. This pilot came into effect on Wednesday 30 October and will run until Monday 18 November.

The footbridge, which connects Station Street to Queen's Road, will remain a public right of way and access to the tram on Station Street via the footbridge will also be maintained.

Roadworks continue on Queens Drive

Our Transforming Cities Fund project to add three safe crossings for cyclists and pedestrians to Queens Drive and Meadows Way moved into a new phase this week, with works starting in Queens Drive. This has seen one lane at a time suspended during off-peak (9.30am - 3.30pm) hours only.

From Monday (4 November) until Friday 29 November, we are resurfacing Queens Drive between Crossgate Drive and past Tottle Road junction. Hours of work will be 8pm to 6am, Monday to Friday.

* CrossCountry have got changes to their Nottingham service until 9 November which will see the removal of some direct services between Nottingham-Derby-Birmingham-Cardiff Central and most Newcastle-Reading (via Derby) services. There will also be a reduced number of seats provided at Beeston, Long Eaton, Spondon and Willington stations. Find out more  [ [link removed] ]
* Sunday 3 November: engineering works closing some lines between Nottingham and Derby. The 8.18am Derby to Nottingham service and the 8.25am Nottingham to Derby service will be replaced by buses.
* Monday 4 November to Thursday 7 November: engineering works closing some lines between Nottingham and Long Eaton. The 23:15 Matlock to Nottingham service will terminate at Derby with a bus service through to Nottingham. The 23:49 Nottingham to Derby service will not run and be replaced by a bus.
* Monday 4 November to Friday 8 November: engineering works closing some lines between Nottingham/Leicester and Cleethorpes. The 21:58 Cleethorpes to Nottingham service will not run and be replaced by a bus.
* Monday 4 November to Thursday 7 November: engineering works closing some lines between Wellingborough and Nottingham. The 23:35 London St Pancras to Nottingham service will not call at Beeston and Nottingham, being replaced by a bus from East Midlands Parkway. It will also depart Kettering later at 00:58 and run up to 25 minutes later from there.
* Monday 4 November to Thursday 7 November: engineering works closing some lines between Mansfield and Kirkby in Ashfield. The 23:59 Mansfield Woodhouse to Nottingham service will not run.
