Did you see the news?

Recently, I joined a suit challenging Governor Beshear’s travel ban, which severely restricted in-state travel and banned out-of-state travel.

U.S. District Judge William Bertelsman deemed the ban unconstitutional. He granted an injunction declaring Governor Beshear’s travel ban order invalid and prohibiting its enforcement.

Why would we ban travel to parks or other places where social distancing can be practiced?

Why would we ban travel to states that have lower coronavirus infection and death rates than Kentucky?

This travel ban order was clearly overly broad. Over the last month, I heard from countless Kentuckians who shared the challenges they faced in trying to comply with it.

I’m glad that common sense has prevailed.

As Kentucky’s Attorney General, it is my duty to protect the fundamental rights of our citizens, and push back against executive actions that infringe upon those rights.

Today, I’m interested in hearing what you think.

Do you support the action I took against Governor Beshear’s travel ban?

Daniel Cameron
