Email from 40 Days for Life God had the final word John, Abortion providers flocked to Illinois after Roe v. Wade was overturned. The goal was simple: Capitalize on women traveling from nearby pro-life states to have abortions. But 40 Days for Life participants are making the cash grab considerably more difficult. An abortion-minded woman in Decatur was turned away from Planned Parenthood because she didn't have her ID. As she left, she saw Liz holding a sign that said, "We can help you." "How can you help me?" the woman asked. "I KNOW this is a baby, but I have no help. I just don't know what else to do." Liz prayed with the mom, who chose life and went to the local pro-life pregnancy resource center! "She told us how she had no idea where her ID had gone," Liz explained. "She never takes it out of her purse, and there was no explanation as to why it was missing. We smiled and agreed God must have moved it." The mom thanked Liz and hugged her before departing. The blessings have been abundant in Decatur, as FIVE babies have been saved this fall! "God hears us and answers us," Liz said. Lawndale, California The Lawndale 40 Days for Life team has many new volunteers this fall--and has had many productive discussions with community members. One expectant mother showed up at Planned Parenthood expecting to receive prenatal care. Fortunately, Gloria was there praying and explained that Planned Parenthood's services are not as comprehensive as the abortion chain would have you believe. She was able to get the woman to a pro-life pregnancy help center. "What about 'my body, my choice?'" asked one passerby. "Thanks to the 40 Days for Life book What to Say When, I was able to give him a response, which he affirmed," reported Lawndale leader Laura. Cincinnati, Ohio Mary has led DOZENS of 40 Days for Life campaigns in the Queen City... ...but this is the first one in which prayer warriors are standing vigil 24 hours a day! "Back in 2008 when we held our first 40 Days for Life campaign, we tried to do 24 hours, but we really weren't ready to keep it up," Mary said. "This fall, with the leadership of two committed men, we are covering the night hours." Great job, Mary! And great job, men! On the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala came to the tomb early in the morning while it was still dark, and saw the stone removed from the tomb. --John 20:1 Father, you never fail. Time and time again you have triumphed: with the overturn of Roe v. Wade, with the conversion of abortion doctors, with the courageous mothers who have chosen life, and with the countless babies saved against all odds. Why, then, do I doubt that you will help us now? I believe that you will make abortion unthinkable in this country. I believe that you will help us empower women to choose life. I believe that no setback is permanent. I believe that you have a plan far greater than anything I could ever conceive on my own. I surrender the past, present, and future to you. Amen.
