John, Last week, I hosted my 50th town hall since announcing my candidacy to represent Washington's 3rd in Congress!
John, being present in our community isn’t just smart campaigning. It’s a personal value of mine. Like so many of us in Southwest Washington, I grew up in rural communities all my life. My family had a small business, John’s Fresh Produce, that I helped to open at the age of 12. Living in a small town with a family business, I learned the importance of listening and the significance of being present and accountable within my community. So I’ve been heartened to have the opportunity to hear from thousands of folks from around our community about what’s on your mind, what issues matter most on the ground, and how I can best serve you if elected to Congress in November. Each time I connect with a constituent, John, it becomes all the more clear that this election is a referendum on some of the most critical issues in our community and across the country: expanding access to affordable health care, lowering the cost of prescription drugs, standing up for working families and up to corporations, and safeguarding earned benefit programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. I hope you’ll take a moment to check out our latest town hall. And I hope that you’ll write to us directly with any outstanding questions that you still have.
Thank you for your time, John. Let's keep talking. Onwards! -- Carolyn
