Last month, Mitch McConnell and special-interest super PACs outspent us by $40 million. This money has funded a campaign full of lies and misinformation to attack Sherrod and inflict intentional harm on others.   

So, here I am, asking for your help in these final days of this campaign.

In our twenty years of marriage, I’ve heard a lot of stories about Sherrod. I’m so inspired by how many of you – in person in Ohio and in letters from across the country – have shared stories about the Sherrod you know. You talk about how smart and informed he is, but you also describe his kindness and his habit of talking less and listening more. I am so moved by your stories of how Sherrod helped this person or that family and how the people who work for him embody the highest aspirations of public service.

Your faith in him is well-founded. The Sherrod you know is the same Sherrod our family loves. And indulge this wife, please, as I add this: Nobody knows Sherrod like I do. I know how hard he works when no one is watching, and what keeps him up at night. I am by his side on those long walks with our dogs, Franklin and Walter, as he brainstorms out loud how to help individuals in need and entire communities in crisis. I know that no matter how much Sherrod does, he always feels there is more than he could do.

That’s the senator you know and that’s the husband I love. Thank you for your faith in him.
