Extremists have taken it too far. In three separate instances and in three different states, ballot drop off boxes were set on fire using “incendiary devices.” Among the most affected was Vancouver, Washington, with over 450 ballots damaged. Fortunately, over half of voters have been identified and contacted, however this raises concerns about the state of our country.
There is a drastic difference between mobilizing voters and incinerating ballots to pursue an outcome. This is an abuse of our freedoms. Extremists have been ignited by hate and violence, taking for granted our sacred right to vote and have fair and free elections. We must protect democracy at all costs! As Harris-Walz dominates the predicted 2024 presidential polls in Washington, we must ensure every vote is honored and accounted for.
The Trump years have consumed conspiracy theorists and has brought out the worst in extremists. It’s time to turn a new page— one that will honor our voting rights, put the people first, and protect democracy.
