John,
Regardless of position, party, or background, if we see or hear something rooted in bigotry, hatred, violence, or prejudice, we’ll call it out.
We will never allow racism or anti-Blackness to go unchecked – and boy, did we witness this on a HUGE scale this past weekend when Donald Trump hosted a rally at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Trump once again showed us who he is—a small, hateful person who relies on bigotry and white supremacy to fuel his grabs at power.
Pitch in to support Black Lives Matter as we reach Black voters across the country and remind EVERYONE voting this year that racism has no place in our politics or our government.
Trump’s campaign rally began with “comedian” (we’re using that term loosely here) Tony Hinchcliffe’s opening “comedy routine.”
Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.” This is AFTER Trump already called the U.S. a “garbage can for the world” last week.
Despite the damage control that Trump is trying to do, he cannot distance himself from this. Birds of a feather…
Trump and his cronies are clearly anti-immigrant, anti-Black, and anti-brown. As election day approaches, they are getting more and more desperate, and they’re blatantly saying the not-so-quiet part out loud.
Instead of relying on dog-whistle politics, Trump is surrounding himself with those who will spew their racism aloud with their chest, and we hope this is a wake-up call to what’s at stake in elections up and down the ballot this year.
White supremacy is alive and well, and while our vote is just one way that we can fight back, it’s a critical one.
Contribute anything you can now to help us fuel last-minute organizing across the country to inform voters of their voting rights! Our votes are a critical path toward policies that breathe life back into our communities, and everyone who wants to use their vote should be equipped with the resources to do so.
In solidarity,
Black Lives Matter
Our grassroots movement is pushing for Black liberation every single day. We are striving to create a world where Black people do so much more than just survive. It’s time we thrive.
As an organization one of our biggest hurdles is consistency.
A recurring contribution of anything you can afford goes a long way as we plan for the months, years, and even decades ahead. This is the most effective way for small-dollar donors (like you) to power our Black liberation work.
Will you make a recurring contribution of $5 or more today so that we can keep building momentum for our movement?
