The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a huge toll on businesses and communities across the country. Thirty million Americans have filed for unemployment since the crisis began, an unprecedented surge in people needing assistance. And with many companies still closed, or operating at less than full capacity, state and municipal governments are facing huge budget shortfalls.

This is happening in red states and blue states. The virus doesn't care about political parties. But unfortunately, the response from Trump and McConnell has been partisan and divisive. They've thrown around terms like, "blue state bailout," and McConnell says he wants states and cities to declare bankruptcy rather than receive any financial support from the federal government.

It's disgraceful, and another reminder of how ill-equipped Trump and McConnell are to bring our country together during this pandemic. That's why states are coming together in bipartisan coalitions to urge Congress to help states, not force them to declare bankruptcy.

We want to hear from you, team, so we can plan our strategy to fight back against Trump and McConnell. Tell us now:

Should Congress Help States or Force Them to Declare Bankruptcy?
