As you make final decisions about your ballot, I want to make sure you’re informed of a very important local measure that’s up to voters this year.
Right now, the city of San Diego is operating on a budget deficit, which means that things like potholes, cracked sidewalks, and poorly lit streets will go unfixed. That’s why Measure E is so important.
By increasing the city’s sales tax rate by just one percentage point, San Diego will be able to generate the revenue it needs to address these critical backlogged issues across the city. Measure E will strengthen our city by making much needed investments in our parks and streets, stormwater infrastructure, and public safety.
It has been endorsed by the League of Women Voters San Diego, small business owners, local labor unions, and the Chamber of Commerce.
In short, it will help us ensure San Diego has the resources needed. Every penny of the money it generates will stay right here in San Diego, benefiting every neighborhood.
So: I urge you to vote YES on Measure E on or before Nov. 5! Add your name here to pledge to vote.
